Spectrum Leadership
While I worked for Spectrum, there was at times a good display of leadership, but also times with a lack of it. Working in the Design Department meant that I was supervised by the CDO (Chief Design Officer). I believe that the CDO showed great leadership throughout the year, which really benefited the company as a whole. However, absences across the leadership team really affected our company at times because we couldn't get some things done when they weren't here. I believe that overall our leadership team was great, but because of these absences made it difficult at times to get our work done on time.
Name Tags
As a Design & IT Specialist, I still have to take leadership on certain things. The company name tags were essential for the start of Spectrum, and I decided to take leadership. I worked on my own to create a eye-catching, yet simple name tag for all our employees. I then showed the rest of our department the name tag and got it printed for the whole company. This was a leadership role in which I took to effectively help our company start off well.
Business Cards
Business cards are very important when it comes to networking with other companies. They allow you to provide important information to other companies and perhaps become partners with them. I took the role of creating the business cards for Spectrum and worked hard to produce a good product for our company. As time continues, I will work to make more individual ones for people who attend trade shows.
Marketing Board
I have taken the role of creating the Marketing Board for the various trade shows. I really became a leader when it came to making the board for our last trade show. I worked on a board that would represent our company and our newest package: "Mardi Gras". I worked really hard and getting a good, non-blurry background that is appealing to the eye. I worked multiple weeks on this one project on my own. I think this was the biggest project that I did this year and I'm proud of the outcome.
Leadership Role
Leadership is extremely important when running a successful company. A company must have strong leaders in order to succeed in a competitive environment. People must take initiative and make sure everything gets done on time, and everything looks good, and running smoothly. Without leaders companies will struggle to produce high-quality products and high sales.
Self-Assessment
As a Design & IT Specialist for Spectrum, I feel that I've done a good job so far on taking leadership roles. I've taken initiative on very important aspects to a company, like name tags and business cards, in order to make sure they look nice and presentable to other companies. I also worked on the marketing board for the Neuqua Trade show. I feel as if I put a lot of time into this and was focused on the project Overall, I've worked really hard on projects on my own, and have done a better job collaborating with my department. I feel as if throughout the year I have made lots of improvements.
For the Future
Leadership is a great thing to have experience when working for a company. If I were to work for a company in the future it is important for me to have already had experience with leadership. Working for Spectrum has really allowed me to grow in this area and make sure I am prepared for what the future may hold. Overall, I think I am prepared well for the future because of the leadership roles I've taken in Spectrum.
